Knowledge is Power: Do You Know What Fracking Is?
The word is everywhere! Your community is talking about it, your government is talking about it, your neighbor is talking about it ... but do you know what "fracking" is?
TIME magazine called fracking "the biggest environmental issue of 2011" yet it still isn't defined in many dictionaries. Western Resource Advocates is gathering signatures to present to Dictionary.com, the Oxford English Dictionary and others asking them to include a definition of fracking.
Fracking or hydraulic fracturing is the process of injecting pressurized fluids, chemicals and sands into the ground in order to extract oil or natural gas.
